Seatech Commercial Diving Services Ltd were contacted in 2023 by Red Funnel regarding issues with Red Funnel’s No.3 East Cowes Dolphin. After a thorough investigation of the failing dolphin fender arrangement, a repair plan was proposed by Seatech.

The plan required removal existing fender pile system, extensive fabrication of new components and fastenings and the fitting new Trelleborg fender cones and brackets

All works were conducted around an operational berth with ferry movements and berthing operations ongoing.

The repairs were successfully carried out with minimal disruption to the Red Funnel operation. This was achieved through Seatech’s flexible approach to production within specific time windows and close co-ordination with the Red Funnel team who we have a strong working relationship with.
